"Selena" is a 1970's stone house which is on a single level and the bathroom includes a level-entry shower which is great for the less able. We can also provide extra accommodation for family groups who can share the toilet and bathroom facilities. Our property includes a pottery / studio; large gardens with easy access; and cattle and free range chickens (and fresh eggs). There are lots of native birds in the garden and you can watch the tui feeding from the nectar bowls. We also have a laid back labrador dog (also called Tui) who just loves people. Selena is located 12km from Tauranga where there is an excellent range of restaurants. Nearby at Mount Maunganui there are beautiful beaches, walks up or around the Mount, hot pools and great cafes. Inland nearby there are great bush walks at Otanewainuku. You can drive to Rotorua in about 1 hour and visit the volcanic landscape or experience Maori culture. Liz is a ceramic artist / potter and teaches pottery at her studio (see the facebook page: liz clark - selena pottery). She also produces work for sale - both artistic and domestic ware. Chris is a practical environmentalist and also a mariner. He is very knowledgeable of New Zealand natural history and will help you with ideas of places to visit. We love to meet people from other countries and cultures, and to share our beautiful home with others. We have a really relaxed attitude to life, and we look forward to meeting you.
